Big Ideas for Little Stitchers

We love making stuff! At Betty Buttons Creative Sewing Workshops, our aim is to provide children with the skills and confidence to design and make their own sewing projects. Betty Buttons was established by Twickenham mums Stella and Ann-Marie to provide seasonal sewing projects for children. We run fun and informal sewing lessons in the local area and welcome primary school children of all levels, age 7-12. Older children may prefer our after school sewing courses or our 1-1 sessions. Our sewing craft parties are generally suitable from age 7-12. We are CRB/DBA checked and fully insured.

New Year Party Sale

If you book a party before the end of February for a date before 30th June we can offer you a special price of £135 for 10 guests. Additional guests @ £16/head up to 12. A non-refundable deposit will be taken at the time of booking to hold your date. Call us to make your booking. Offer ends Feb 29th 2016.

Holiday Sewing Workshops

Children need time to be creative. Betty Buttons run half day and full day sewing camps over the school holidays. Our seasonal sewing lessons give the children a manageable sewing project to whizz up, with our help, over the 2.5hr period and on full days, we select a more challenging project or half day projects. It may seem a long time to be sewing but it’s amazing how quickly time flies. The children learn to design and customise their own projects. They gain confidence and great satisfaction from producing their own unique handmade treasures. Take a look at our Gallery page for an idea of the projects we do or our Workshops page for the latest workshop dates.

Sewing Parties

Craft parties are fun and provide a take home gift all in one! A Betty Buttons Sewing Party will take care of all the preparation, materials, equipment and the tuition for you. Host a party in your own home or rent a hall. We offer a party for 10 at £160 for 2 hours. Mums and dads have liked to help our mini stitchers in the past, but with two sewing coaches there you can sit back and enjoy a cup of tea. We provide materials and guidance for up to 12 children. By special arrangement, we can cater for children age 6 with plastic needles and binca, ask for details. Please see our Sewing Parties page to find out more information.

After School Sewing Skills

For children aged 8-11 and 12-16 interested in tackling a larger project, we run short sewing courses for small groups of 6 over a 3-4 week period. Introductory sewing skills will be covered throughout the project including; material selection, pattern placing, pinning and cutting out, machine stitching and hand finishing. Students bring their own fabric and matching thread along to the course and we provide sewing machines and pressing facilities. Some additional work will be carried out at home between workshops. Betty Buttons provide a teaching ratio of 1:3 on our skills courses, so your kids get the most out of each session.  Please email us for more information

Hi Anne – Marie, I have been meaning to get in contact with you about your sewing group. Please let me know when your next short course is. I would love Carys to have the opportunity to learn how to sew with someone like yourself passionate and creative about such a task.
    See you soon,
    Sue ( no.47 )
