We rented a house for the Easter holidays this year and I packed a sewing project in my case should we have inclement weather. It was very sunny all week but the children decided that they would like to make themselves a soft toy pillow and set about thinking what they could draw. We had some Berol fabric pens and they each drew a design on paper and then traced it onto their calico. For some this took 15 mins and for the younger boys it took about an hour, but they had such fun doing it.
When we came back from our day trip they wanted to get straight back on their projects. The next stage was to pin the design onto a backing fabric, we chose some gingham, and stitched all around the shape. When that was complete they stuffed the shape with polyester filling and sewed up the opening.
Here are some photos from the day.
